Zwischen Wahrheit und Wahrnehmung

Wenn man Rousseaus Spruch liest, könnte man glatt meinen: Alles ist im Lot, Zeit für die Hängematte. Aber so einfach ist es nicht – knapp daneben ist eben auch vorbei.

Was mich schon immer begeistert hat: unser Planet, die Natur, das große Ganze. Die Fotografie bietet eine wunderbare Möglichkeit, all das sichtbar zu machen – sie kann zeigen, dokumentieren, aufmerksam machen. Aber sie bringt auch Verantwortung mit sich. Nicht alles, was schön aussieht, ist es auch wirklich. Die Kamera kann täuschen – und unsere eigene Wahrnehmung sowieso.

Hier kommt für mich Henry David Thoreau ins Spiel – mit seinem Buch Walden – Leben in den Wäldern und der Idee, das Einfache, Wahre und Ehrliche zu sagen. Dieser Gedanke begleitet mich mehr und mehr – auch wenn’s um Fotografie, Gesellschaft oder unsere Umwelt geht. Offen, ehrlich, direkt.

Nach vielen Phasen und Formaten bin ich mir sicher - das war noch nicht alles. Irgendwas kommt da noch. Ich nenne es einfach mal plan.b – und bin gespannt, wohin er führt.

Between Truth and Perception

When reading Rousseau's quote, you might think: Everything is in balance, time for the hammock. But it's not quite that simple - even literally.

What has always fascinated me: our planet, nature, the big picture. Photography offers a wonderful opportunity to make all of this visible – it can show, document, and draw attention. But it also brings with it responsibility. Not everything that looks beautiful is actually beautiful. The camera can be deceiving – and our own perception as well.

This is where Henry David Thoreau comes into play for me – with his book Walden – Life in the Woods and the idea of ​​saying what is simple, true, and honest. This thought accompanies me more and more – even when it comes to photography, society, or our environment. Open, honest, direct.

After many phases and formats, I'm sure – that's not all. There's more to come. I'll just call it plan.b – and I'm excited to see where it leads.
